Cosmos Quest

Starship Human Dawn is evacuating the last residents from a dying Earth in search of a new world. 5000 humans are in suspended animation while the vessel travels through post-light speed infinity drive under control of computers. Commander Sophie Copland wakes up in deep space because of an emergency drop to sub-light speed. Human, Kyla Adair has caused this. She is escaping from an alien world of humanoid beings called benefactors. After no senior officers are found to be alive, two other junior crewmembers, Penny and Jack are awoken. They find the starship is occupied by human terrorists, as well as benefactors who came from a spacecraft that was following Kyla. The terrorists have killed the senior officers and are torturing two benefactors in an apparent attempt to make them get the damaged Human Dawn operational. They rescue the pair and manage to blast three self-life-supporting drones containing the suspended animation humans aboard away before the starship is destroyed by the terrorists. With a contingent of benefactors still aboard they escape in the Dawn Rescue, the core of Human Dawn that becomes a 'lifeboat' and self contained starship. But where are they in the vast emptiness of the cosmos? Will the Dawn Rescue be capable of operating as a full starship and can the benefactors who are still with them be trusted? With 5000 humans still in suspended animation, it is up to Sophia and her small group of companions to find a habitable planet as a destination and prevent the extinction of humankind.
